Roy San Filippo, the editor of the Building Trades Division at Senders Communications Group, has been a communications professional for Building Trades Unions for over six years. He led the media and communications department for the Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 36 and also served as their political coordinator. As an adjunct Roy taught courses in labor history and the history of mass media at the State University of New York—Old Westbury.

“An effective communications strategy is en essential component of any successful organization. In a media saturated world dominated by corporate interests, this is doubly important for organized labor and community based organizations,” he says.

Roy has a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a master’s degree in Political Science from the New School for Social Research.
